Care Instructions for O’Gem Jewelry
O’Gem jewelry is crafted from natural materials and should be treated with care. To ensure your O’Gem pieces last a lifetime, please refer to our care and maintenance guide below.
Storage
- Protect your jewelry from direct sunlight, extreme temperatures, and humidity.
- Ideally, store your O’Gem pieces in individual pouches.
Wear
- Avoid spraying perfumes or applying creams or other liquids directly on your jewelry, as this can cause stains and damage the gold foil and silicone pads on ear clips.
- Remove your jewelry before bathing, swimming, or engaging in intense exercise.
- Exception: You can wear your O’Gem ring in the water while swimming.
- Regularly wearing your pearls and opals will help them maintain their natural luster.
Care
General Cleaning
Gemstones, pearls, gold foil, and amber should be gently cleaned with:
- Warm water
- A mild soap
- A soft, damp cloth or brush
Avoid:
- Harsh chemicals
- Hot water
- Aggressive cleaners
Patina
- Gold-foiled and silver-foiled jewelry that comes into direct contact with skin may develop a patina over time, enhancing its unique look.
- Silver may oxidize and darken if not polished regularly.
Repair
- Elastics, cords, and clips may loosen after years of regular use. These can be tightened or replaced as needed.
- If you need to adjust the size of a ring or request a repair, please consult our “Returns and Repairs” information.
